Unix/Linux Administrator
Responsibilities include - Provide server design, development, implementation, administration, maintenance and management. This includes the use of various programming languages such as Perl, Java, Java Scripting, C (various flavors) and PHP to achieve the desired professional result. Operating environment includes Sun Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems and Netscape, Sun, Oracle and open-source server applications. - Provide thorough comprehensive IT security to all systems, servers, and applications under their purview. - Provide program management including staff support and management, problem resolution and periodic performance reports. - Provide systems administration include operating system (OS) installation, maintenance, monitoring, applying OS and security patches, establishing network connectivity, management and maintenance of SMTP protocol (including applications like Sendmail), installing third party software, configuring RAID storage systems, managing backup and restore operations, installation and configuration of clustering software, and performing optimization operations. Operating environment includes Sun Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems and Netscape Suitespot, Sun ONE/Java Enterprise and Oracle Collaboration server applications, as well as open-source software solutions. Clustering in a Solaris and/or a Linux environment is important. - Provide design, development, implementation, maintenance and management of Enterprise LDAP Directory. Operating environment includes Sun Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems and Netscape Suitespot, Sun ONE/Java Enterprise and Oracle Collaboration server applications, as well as open-source software solutions. - Provide design, development, implementation, maintenance and management of Enterprise messaging related collaboration systems and infrastructure. Operating environment includes Sun Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems and Netscape, Sun, Oracle and open-source server applications. - Provide support and programming for messaging / directory related applications, including at least the following: anti-spam, anti-virus, ?middleware? support for other messaging related applications such as synchronization of wireless PDA devices to NEMS e-mail and e-calendar systems.
